3D Modelling

If you have seen my work in the 'Week by Week' section, you have seen that a few days ago I was working with Venny to get used to making interesting structures. After that, we were given a task to be able to use these methods to be able to apply it to our Game idea. With my new idea in toll, I thought it would be interesting to make the city scape with these methods!

So here, is my next process. I will reefer to everything in relation to tools with the best of my ability and then give my review to my own piece and how I feel about it:

More of how I did this will be put in the Week by Week section of this site, but for now, I started by making three buildings that really were defined and different, before I then used the crowd generation tactic to be able to make multiple duplicates at once. I even made pathways to imply where roads and paths would be and added the Botanical Garden by making a glowing sphere before sinking it into the ground. I then learned how to make a smoke generator within my development journal and used that to make the purple mist that covers the land.

With the colours I even used on the building, I made it slightly glow too, so they would stand out against the mist too.

I then grabbed the camera setting and then made sure to take some photos. The bottom one is my personal favourite as I tried to use the Rule of Thirds to make sure I got a picture that would be aesthetically pleasing to look at. I also thought it would be a good base for when I do concept art for my city as I would then be able to make sure  I had the right perspective and height!

I think the colours also help as a base to be able to give me an idea of the sort of colours that would be good for the Neo Noir setting I am trying to create.

I also decided to name my city Neo-City. A play on the way that the game is Neo-Noir and that it is indeed, a city.

My next plan will be to draw the city.
