1-1

Today I had a 1-1 with James where he went through my website and told me the things I could improve on. Overall it was pretty good! I was told my website so far is of a great quality and is showing a good development of my game idea so far. However, I was given a lot to work on in prep for the next while. These are as follows:

  • Add tools into Blender FOCI.

  • With the Storyboards: what will I take from them to make it a game experience?

  • Moodbaords: Make colour pallets that will refelct game.

  • Timeframe in real time and game time (generally abut an hour or so for a short game).

So, in the end, I had a lot to think about. James said that as of the 1-1 my game was more an experience rather than a game. I needed to figure out how I could make it more of a game to keep it engaging and in the end I really started to rethink things.

I wasn't happy with my pitch. I felt like there was still something missing. Though I was happy with the concept I was making, every time I talked about it to others, I really felt like something was STILL missing. Even after doing the research there was just a piece of my gaming puzzle that just wouldn't fit.

After my 1-1 with James, I went back to the drawing board in a few ways. I would get round to editing my website (more on that in a bit), but I still wanted to keep some fundamental ideas - like the woods and it being a scary game, but overall I just took a step back and gave myself a break to really rethink through everything.

So, my new plan is to go through and make edits to my pages- adding more info where it is needed like on my moodboards and the section on my FOCI. I will add EDIT DATES at the bottom of my page along with the original time that put up the work. I am excited to improve my website and see where my brain goes with thinking of a new idea.
